Germanic Style Smoothbore by Andy Hodgkins

This is a Germanic style smoothbore inspired by a piece made in Suhl 1741. I tried to use various materials to complete it and purchase a little as possible. Only the barrel, lock, and trigger guard aren't hand made. The ram rod pipes and release button are deer antler, elk antler muzzlecap, forged butt plate and side opening wood box as per original.

  4. I have looked carefully at the photos provided and found that you've gotten the various materials fitted exceptionally tight and the craftsmanship show the time very well spent. The wood imbellishments are flowing from one to another so smoothly that the finish is beautiful to the eye. The silver inlays are not over done as was the tradition for the era. All in all, an excellent job. Anyone would be proud to aquire one for themselves. gps.

  5. Another work of art from Andy's hands. I have seen his work in person, and photos can't do justice.
