Jim Meili Bag

This is a bag that I made about twenty years ago. It has served me well as a day bag for my squirrel rifle. Looks pretty beat up but I think it is just starting to look good. The horn is an original.

"Studies in Tansel" Series by T.C. Albert

This is a print made from the first drawing of T.C.'s new "Studies in Tansel" series. They are signed, number and limited to 25 prints per drawing.

The print series is the work of the Tansels: Francis, John, Stark and Timothy, drawn as studies, antiqued, hand tinted and then printed. This first in the series is a study of a horn done by John and incorporates his "style" of laying our the characteristic Tansel traits.

I am hoping to do a lot more drawings and even other traditional "folk art" works in wood and metal.

Scott Morrison Southern Banded Horn for the West Coast Horners 2011 Raffle

The horn is about 12 1/2 inches from the tip of the button finial to the tip of the spout.  Diameter at the base is 2 inches. The base plug is turned from walnut, and the bulbous tip is carved from the horn. The base and two heat applied bands are secured with iron brads. The horn was first dyed in RIT tan, assembled and then a dark walnut oil stain applied to the whole horn.

North Carolina Pinned-Tip Horn by Art DeCamp

This horn is made after an original from Horth Carolina.  There is a turned horn tip, pinned in place, a horn band covering the joint at the butt and a cherry wood butt with integral button.  A light amount of "ageing" has been added to this horn.  It measures 11-3/4" across by 2-7/16" diameter at the butt.

"Following the Tradition But Out of Their Element"

This is the theme for the 2011 CLA Live Auction. Roland Cadle, the C.L.F. Fundraising Chairman, is looking for CLA artist to participate in this auction.

Roland is challenging CLA artist known for a particular genre to produce an item "in the tradition" but NOT what they are known for. The concept is great for both artist and buyer (how many counted cross stitch samplers has Frank House made? ... I want to know if this is just an example from Roland or is Frank doing cross stitching?)

Let's rally round and have some fun! Roland's contact information is info@villagerestorations.com or 814-696-1379.

Gerald Neaves 1/3 Scale Miniature Kentucky Rifle Case with Accessories

Rifle is very nicely made, copied from a North Carolina rifle. Included is a miniature Kentucky pistol, Bowie knife with wood scabbard and German silver trim, tomahawk, flask, mold, horn with priming horn, powder measure; all in a beautifully made partitioned case.

This item is up for auction at Cowans.

Horn by Bruce Horne

The designs are reminiscent of the motifs seen on many Native American artifacts. They are cut into the surface as were they were on many original horns. The but end of the horn is made to look as though broken during its years of use. The horn is made to be carried on the right side. It measures 14 inches on the outside curve.
